Our Mission

Our mission
in plain terms.

The Florida Student Investment Fund exists to give high school students across Florida real, hands-on investment experience — not simulations, not theory alone, but actual portfolio management with real stakes.

We believe that financial literacy is one of the most inequitably distributed skills in America. The students who learn to read markets, build portfolios, and think critically about capital are overwhelmingly those who already have access to wealth. FLSIF is here to change that.

Through student-run chapters across Florida high schools, we provide a structured environment for ambitious students to develop as investors, analysts, and leaders — before they ever set foot in a college classroom.

Beyond education, donations to FLSIF go further than most. A portion of all donated capital — alongside a percentage of investment earnings generated by the fund — is allocated proportionately to each school chapter. Each chapter then has full autonomy to direct their allocation toward the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations of their choosing, putting the power of philanthropic decision-making directly in the hands of students.

Why It Matters

What FLSIF is — and how it works.

Student-led

FLSIF is built and run entirely by high school students. Every chapter is led by its own student team, from portfolio decisions to fundraising strategy, giving members real authority over real capital.

Real capital

We don't simulate. Donations and investment earnings fund actual portfolios managed by student chapters, so members learn to read markets, assess risk, and make decisions with genuine stakes.

Statewide

Across Florida high schools, FLSIF chapters form a growing network of young investors, sharing research, collaborating on strategy, and building a community that extends far beyond a single campus.

Philanthropic

A portion of every dollar raised, alongside a share of investment earnings, flows back to each chapter, which directs its allocation toward the 501(c)(3) nonprofits of its choosing.

Education, experience, and impact

A student-run fund turning financial literacy into real-world action.
